ASAP Objectives
The objectives of the A.S.A.P. project have been finalized to the put in practice and demonstrate, in a representative scale, the economically viable and technical possibilities of a Protocol to protect an aquifer from changes that could modify its characteristics.

- reducing by 10% groundwater pumping and also by 10% the energy consumption;
- to inverting the negative, lowering trend of of freshwater head (from -0.5meter/year to +0.5 meter/year);
- to reducing the probabilities of freshwater being contaminated by low quality water and pollutants reaching the aquifer and to avoid the gradual sinking of land (subsidence) and deterioration of wetlands with consequent damage to the ecosystems;
- to diminishing pumping to a minimum while ensuring that citizens always have enough water of good quality also in case of seasonal fluctuations.
