On the occasion of the Exhibition Dire&Fare, Presentation project ASAP, Actions for Systemic Aquifer Protection (LIFE06/ENV/IT/000255).

On the occasion of the Exhibition Dire&Fare, the most important exhibition at national level for the documentation of the innovation of the system of local autonomies, Acque Spa and Acque Ingegneria, in collaboration with the Instituto Tecnico de Galicia and the Province of Pisa, presented to the public and press for the first time the project ASAP Actions for Systemic Aquifer Protection, cofinanced by the European Commission on the LIFE Programme (LIFE06/ENV/IT/000255).

The conference to illustrate the project was inaugurated by the President of Acque SpA Fausto Valtriani who, after a short speech, passed the word to the President of the Province of Pisa Andrea Pieroni and then to Anna Romei, Councillor for Professional Training and employment policies of the Province of Pisa, who, speaking about the importance of the project for employment and about the quality of the work, emphasised the need for the development in the direction of jobs that are more specialized and requiring high levels of knowledge, that would generate new spin offs in turn creating new jobs.

The speech by Paolo Prosperini, In charge of Community policies of the Province of Pisa, who linked the project to other initiatives of the body concerning relations with the European Union, initiated the technical introduction to the project presented by Director of the Servizio Acquedotto di Acque SpA Mario Chiarugi and developed by the Project manager of ASAP Oberdan Cei .

The conference ended with the speech by the Managing director of Acque Ingegneria, Damasco Morelli, who showed his enthusiasm about the ASAP project in that the cofinancing by the European Union on the Programme LIFE (LIFE06/ENV/IT/000255) has made and will make possible the realization of sustainable strategies by means of actions that are economically and technically viable for all.
